I hope this album brings you joy along with sincere messages of peace. I’ve been making music with Amr, Bryan, Michael and Greg for more than a decade. They’re amazing people who are also extraordinarily skilled and gracious musicians. In the more than six years as music director for a weekly jazz service in Chicago, I’ve arranged and re-arranged an endless amount of music (secular and sacred) for my quartet and congregational singing. Singing Christmas stems from that work. Our objective for this project is to bring jazz, funk and joy to holiday classics old and new.
